If Security Dynamics is able to assert trademark ownership on "RSA" then
all of the names you propose would be covered as well. Trademark protection
covers similar names as well. The could even argue coverage for ARS or SRA.
No, it's not a Y2K problem, but unless there is a widely accepted generic
term for the RSA algorithm, Security Dynamics may be able to effectively
extend its RSA monopoly after its patent expires by thretening to sue
organizations that use the RSA name without licensing their code. They
don't even have tor register the RSA mark. There is a common law trademark
protection. Most companies will find licencing cheaper than litigating.
