You could always say you're temporarily out of service, creating some
annoyingly small yet fatal glitch with the service to back up your
assertion when the cops bang down the door.

Perhaps the use of a nym account, through a post to alt.anonymous.messages
signed by an agreed-upon key. When Uncle Sam recognizes the signature
and takes you to court, before the public eye, for being uncooperative,
you could take the out of, "My machine was comprimised."

If you could make that argument convincingly, you've both saved your
own butt and allowed the government's edginess make the issue public.

If nothing else, why not something where you publisize that if you ever
send mail or post in a particular newsgroup an innoculous-looking notice
containing a common word like "are," they are to stop using your service?
When Uncle Sam howls, just say that it is, in fact, a common word and you
forgot, and he (again) gives his plans away with his eagerness to crush
anybody who doesn't do as he says.
