Greetings Mr. Terranson
I fully agree with you on that. But the fact is that a large proportion of hte
population does not react against that. The reasons are multiple and I recently
read a very interesting and valid explanation as to why it happens. Taxation is
simply the most visible, the most conductive to get revolted against part of
that system. But, as we say here in french (french Kanadian), "Money is the
nerve of war". A government who would not dare to tax (regardless of the cause)
would not have the ressources to wage the war it is currently waging over it's
citizens, thus it would likely become a non-issue.
The money sprinkling that is done by the govt is what appease the population.
Part of what is confiscated is used to pay for spin doctoring, which helps
(them) too.
Here in Kanada, 55% of the GDP flows in the hands of our Rulers, to be sprinkled
at their discretion, as if they knew better how to dispose of our sweat than us
who sweat it out. So just remember, every time you take a hike, only 4 1/2 toes
move your lard for you...
Regards.
