Its not the use of trench coats to conceal weapons they are worried about,
it's what black trench coats now represents and reminds us of, something we
would rather all forget about. The trench coats were used as an identifier
in the shooting for the swat team to go by, plus the group itself was
titled after trench coats. They are not trying to make it hard to conceal
weapons, for if someone wanted to conceal a weapon, its more easy enough.
Its the thought that comes to mind when you see one, like the swastika. The
swastika once was a popular symbol, used for many religions, including
budism, as a sign of good luck. Hitler adopted the swastika to represent
the Nazis. As you can probably see and tell, swastikas, like trench coats,
reminds us of something terrible that happened, so we try to "outlaw" them
for public safety and comfort. Personally, i wouldn't be too scared in life
by not seeing anymore swastika's or trench coats. Call it human nature.
