I'm sure there are many uses for cryptography and scientology writings.
Either to keep them confidential in the first place (oops - too late for
that) or to keep them circulating around the net forever (more likely).

As to whether people will all leave scientology once they realize its a
scam... I think that most adherents limbic system is already overriding
their neocortex. This is unlikely to change.
