"Killfile" is a somewhat older term, from back when many of us still used
Usenet :-).  
Some net subcultures use the term "bozofilter" instead.
In either case, it's tough to read Cypherpunks without some
automated method for trashing messages that have a high probability
of having low value.

I use some filters in Eudora, but the interface for creating them
is a bit too clumsy to use them a lot - I tend to sort my Inbox by
Subject, look for bunches of articles with the same title,
and then decide whether to read them or trash them 
(especially useful for a different mailing list I'm on.)
