While this is an interesting point, it is not related here. Medina is
actually a suburb on the outer ring of the Cleveland-Akron metropolitan
area, and examining the article at

happen to know that the area in question is upper-middle class. This is,
for all practical purposes, suburbia. There are no significant Amish
settlements for at least 50 miles, if not more.
