As I said, I haven't seen it myself. But as I was told, they were actually
sending e-mail back and forth with the data encoded inside the message
bodies somehow. Presumably, it was just mime or uuencoded.

The benefit of this is that it'll work through anything, even old
UUCP links and "e-mail only" application gateway firewalls :)
