I personally perfer BSD based systems for firewalls. however,
there is much of personnal taste/opinion here.
Thus, I am not ok with your boss. BSD is a good (to say it's the best would
be a personnal opinion, and I doubt you want such a sentence!), but
drawbridge is
(as far as I know) more appropriate in an "open" network, such as a
university.
things like ipfilter (my choice), ipfw, netfilter are more appropriate for
a corporate network (my choice being BSD with ipfilter).
I advise you to:
- convince your boss that linux is good enough for you
- install BSD on some machine and try it. It's the "friend" of linux and as
an "open source patriote",
you should know what it is...
