That is perfectly fine.  I had to install from scratch, rewriting all of   the Network Objects etc..  You can defiantly look on this as an   opportunity to write accurate documentation on the firewall.  I did try   to upgrade straight, but i found that the firewall loaded the Rules Base   slower, and the processing was slower.  From there I decided to Redo my   configuration from scratch.  It will give you some in depth knowledge of   how it is setup, and you can write a document for other people.  In case   of emergencies.
