[FW1] Question about upgrading from 3.0 to 4.0

We recently received FW-1 4.0 as well as the new hardware we'll be running it 
on.

The documentaion states that during the upgrade process the old databases and 
rule bases etc are merged with the new ones. My question is, how can I have my 
databases merged when I install FW-1 4.0 on the new hardware?
