Re: [FW1] Resource temporarily unavailable
Hi,
Many times, "Operation would block" is an incorrect error message and really
means a timeout was exceeded.
The following is true for the "Operation would block" in 3.0b, but may work for
4.0 too:
This situation is caused by exceeding the FireWall Control Connection
Timeout. This timeout is not supposed to be changed by the user,
and therefore does not appear in the GUI. However, you could change that
timeout by adding the following line to the
$FWDIR/conf/objects.C file: fwd_conn_tout(###); (where ### is the timeout
period, in seconds. The default value is 25). The
correct place to add this line is after the ":props (" line.

Subject: [FW1] Resource temporarily unavailable
Hi!
Quite often when I install the ruleset from our Management Console (v. 4.0
SP2) to the firewall modules (v. 3.0b SP) I get an error message saying
"Resource temporarily unavailable". Can someone please explain me what this
means, and how it affects the installation of the ruleset?
Earlier when we used v. 3.0b SP8 on all the machines I often got a message
saying "Operation would block". It looked liked the installation of the
ruleset failed, but actually it did not. According to our local software
pusher it only meant that we probably had a slow connection to the module we
tried to perform the installation on.
Any comments?
