RE: [FW1] Backing up FW1 - using ArcServe

Jaime,

ArcServe service has to run on the firewall. You could specify a full server
backup or particular directories. For certain reasons (conserve tape space,
fast backup, etc.) I do a $FWDIR backup on a daily basis and once a week a full
back-up.

To allow backups to take place, allow the following services 6051-TCP, 6051-TCP,
6050-UDP and 6051-UDP services (just create a group for it).

Also, you could try to copy the following files:

$FWDIR/conf/fw.license
$FWDIR/conf/objects.C
$FWDIR/conf/*.W
$FWDIR/conf/rulebases.fws
$FWDIR/conf/fwauth.NDB
$FWDIR/conf/fwmusers
$FWDIR/conf/gui-clients
$FWDIR/conf/product.conf
$FWDIR/conf/fwauth.keys
$FWDIR/conf/product.conf
$FWDIR/conf/masters
$FWDIR/conf/fwauth.keys
$FWDIR/conf/smtp.conf
$FWDIR/conf/fwauthd.conf
$FWDIR/conf/fwopsec.conf
$FWDIR/conf/serverkeys.db
$FWDIR/state/local.arp
$FWDIR/databases/rulebases.*

You can also copy the route table and the server ip configuration to a file :

route print >> a:\route-table.txt
ipconfig /all >> a:\ip-config.txt

Good luck!
