[FW1] ftp to the firewall, is it ok?
Hello,
I want to set up a secure ftp (no anonymous allowed, must be authenticated)
server on our site where authorized clients and contractors can transfer
files.
Basically, we do not have a DMZ, so people will come in and go out directory
through the firewall.
It will look like this:
INTERNET <<==>> FIREWALL <<==>> SECURE FTP SERVER
Is it a problem to have non-anonymous ftp loaded on the firewall? Users will
authenticate directly onto the firewall coming in and going out. Is this a
problem? If so, what are the risks? If not, please explain.
Is it ever a problem to have ftp loaded directly on a firewall? Should
users ever connect DIRECTLY to the firewall?
Thanks!
Ed
