Hi Fernando,
as I understand, you want to upgrade from 3.0 to 4.1 and move your Firewall
from Solaris to NT (well, if you really want to ;-) )
Here is, what I would do:
1.) Install 3.0 on NT
2.) Transfer your conf files with ftp in ascii mode to NT
3.) upgrade to 4.0
4.) upgrade to 4.1
We once tried to upgrade form 3.0b to 4.1 directy - didn't work.
I don't really know, what the backward-compatibility option is for, I think
it's to administrate 4.0 modules with a 4.1 management-station, but I
suceeded in doing so without this option.
Good luck!
