What about analyse your FW log files?
Here is a good tool for doing this you can get graphical view of the used
bandwidth and more.

I use it in combination with MRTG.

You should also have a look at ntop. It will show you much more than mrtg
and present it with nice figures too. It's really a sniffer which interprets
the trafic and makes statistic data out of it.
