Have you been able to set up a securemote session without using DHCP through
the cable modem? It may be that the cable company has disabled the option to
build a VPN connection over their network, many here in Holland do. They say
they offer open internet access, but often do not...

I have spent hours trying to install SecuRemote without
success.  My machine runs Win98SE and connects with
a cable modem using DHCP.  I've scanned through a lot
of documents on this list, and didn't read any where someone
found a solution to this type of problem.

After installing SecuRemote, reboot gives me a binding error
and my connection to the cable modem is lost.  All is fixed
by uninstalling SecuRemote.

I also tried installing a Dial-Up adapter and installed SecuRemote
only on the dialups.  This at least got me a good cable modem
configuration on reboot and I was able to set up a VPN site.
But since the FW1 protocol was only linked to the dialup adapter,
I couldn't access the VPN through the cable modem.

If I grab all the info from winipcfg and change my TCP/IP to
static, and then install SecuRemote, will this make any difference?
Has anyone had success getting SecuRemote to work with DHCP?
