[FW1] Server sizing
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----

Is there an algorithm or formula for getting a general minimum
configuration for a FW1 server? I can come up with estimates for
number of users, bandwidth utilization, connections per hour, etc.,
but need to know how well FW1 can scale to these stats, and if it has
particular limits to consider. The web site is not enough help. Other
questions include:
1) Do the NT and Solaris versions benefit from multiple processors? I
assume Solaris will, but I don't know it the NT version has been
written to take advantage of NT's flavor of multitasking.
2) Will the Solaris version outperform the NT version on bursty
traffic with "similar" (yes, I know; don't say it) NIC/proc/RAM
configurations?
TIA.
