Re: [FW1] service port of groupwise?

Hi Daniel,

We are running GroupWise 5 through FireWall-1 using the following
ports:

MTA - MTA: 7100/tcp
Client to Post Office(1): 1677/udp + tcp
Client to Post Office(2): 1678/udp + tcp
etc

Remote GroupWise over IP uses the same ports as local IP clients.
Other options are async access via modem and web access via port 80.

I wasn't involved in the GroupWise design so don't know whether these
are standard or not. The client traffic was supposed to be tcp only
but the matching udp ports showed up in the firewall logs so I let
them through too. I have set up a group for all these and allow them
between our site networks.

If you want more information just ask.

Hi,

We will apply firewall-1 on our customer network very soon. I have
checked
Novell web about the service port used for groupwise (client and
remote
groupwise server) but it confuse me. There are many ports will be
used such
as 7201, 7205, 9010...etc. Anyone can give me a hand about which
service
port must be used for groupwise network? Please advice.

Daniel
