[FW1] Database access

We are developing an application that involves using a Cold Fusion
application server to access an Oracle database on our internal network.

I seem to have 2 choices- set up the web server running Cold Fusion on
our DMZ segment and allow the  SQL request  to pass through FW-1
(v3.0b), or set up the web/application server internally using NAT and
allow the external users in by passing http through the firewall. Since
customers will be doing inquiries, there won't be any authentication
required. Which is the most secure way to do it?
