RE: [FW1] Xylan Omniswitch

We installed FW1 on our Xylan Omniswitch in August and have had excellent
performance. Most of our polices are on the port to our internet T1's and there have
been no slowdowns. A few policies are on an OC12 link to another ATM network and we
have had no problems there either.

It is all part of a new network and we have had various problems, but none of them
seem to be from the Firewall or the Omniswitch.

Just my 2 cents.

Stay well clear of them, they are very very poor indeed (as I have heard
anyway). Have you considered Nokia.

We have installed a demo Xylan Omniswitch to perform some benchmark tests
running Firewall1 v.3.0b.  It appears to have performed well however I did
encounter a dead port during our testing of the ESX module.  Does anyone have
any experience with this switch that could atest to it's reliability?
