[FW1] anybody have ICQ working properly?

I read Dameon's procedure for setting up ICQ, but I dont think it applies in
this situation since I have a rule saying that internal net can go anywhere and
do anything. Are the steps that Phoneboy describes necessary even if you dont
restrict outbound traffic?
I am able to get connected to the ICQ servers (sometimes) but I have trouble
sending and receiving messages. Is it true that ICQ just will not work properly
with address translation?

Any help would be appreciated.
