Subject: [FW1] Stopping mdq When No Rules In Policy Deal With Mail

Environment: Solaris 2.6 FW-1 V4.0 SP4

I notice that on the firewall module host the fwd pid starts up a process
called "mdq" which I believe stands for "Mail DeQueuer". None of my rules
in the loaded policy have anything to do with smtp/pop directly (i.e. I am
not using the smtp security server nor have I ever loaded a policy that
needed it). If I kill the mdq process fwd starts it up again. How do I get
rid of this beast permanently? I can see no reason as to why it should be
running (not only that it eats 47M of memory).

xxx-tmp[7]% ps -ef
    root 369 1 0 Oct 18 ? 50:47 fwd 9.7.2.8 1.3.2.2 +1.3.2.2
    root 377 369 0 Oct 18 ? 0:28 mdq

Thanks.

./CK
