[FW1] SMTP Proxy & FW-1

Hi everyone,

Thanks for any light you can give to this couple of
issues I have:

I had a firewall harddrive crash not long ago and I
had to rebuild the firewall. One problem started to
surface and I am wondering if it is because of certain
default parameters in "smtp.conf" file or anywhere
else.

This is my environment: I am running FW-1 3.0b release
3083 and I am using the firewall as an smtp proxy
server for inbound mail. One problem that started
happening after the reinstall is that e-mail from one
specific side does not get to us and I do see some
entries in the log for "message SYN -> SYN-ACK ->
Timeout" but I don't really think that this is a real
SYN-ACK timeout since it was working before the
firewall crash and we did apply the same properties
and policy to the new install. The only parameters
that could be different are the smtp.conf parameters
or anything specific on the firewall module itself.

The second problem which is being happening for ever
and no one even dared to give me an answer is that
fact that the smtp proxy stops accepting inbound
e-mail randomly every couple of weeks and I have to do
a fwstop and fwstart to get it to start again.

I appreciate any comments or any parameter values for
smtp.conf files.
