Re: [FW1] Alteon switch HA solution
Yes, I've used the Alteon switches in an HA environment, albeit not with
FW-1. We used them with another firewall, but the concepts are the same.
It works well. We have complete failover and load balancing - any single
component could fail and the rest will stay up. When the downed component
is replaced, it pops right back into the loop without any further
configuration.
The switches themselves aren't the easiest things to configure, but Alteon
was very helpful in working with us to get everything going.
I believe it to be a very good solution for load balancing and failover.
