[FW1] replace/upgrade FW 3.0

Hi,
I need to rebuild one of our firewalls  using a new box. Right now it is
3.0 with patch 3045 on it. I was thinking I would turn off the old one,
install/register/configure the new one using the same ip address. My
question is will I have any problems with the registration and if things
go wrong can I just go back to using the old box? Can I go back using the
old box once I upgraded the new one to 4.0 and registered it?
