[FW1] MX Lookup problem

Is checkpoint aware of this issue?. Why can't the mailserver be inside the
fw on a DMZ and do outbound SMTP?

Any ideas on this one:

I can't send mail to mail servers that don't have their top level server
accepting
SMTP requests.

The mail is queued up on the FW and repeatedly tried until it times out.
This is because the FW can't do a MX lookup to get the next level server.

The domain is snet.net

The only solution I have heard is to put my mail server outside the FW.

This is discussed on the Checkpoint KB in the article "MX Record and
firewall-1 Security Server" but
I can't extract a solution from it.

Specs: FW-1 4.0 on NT 4.0 w/SP4
