Lance's white paper is an excellent writeup, and give you a secure
configuration w/a minimum of fuss.

You can even go more conservative than this, if you wish, and install
only the "core distribution".  You will have to add a few packages, if
you do this, however.  Email me if you're interested, and I'll discuss
it w/you offline.
