[FW1] Firewall-1 Ver 3.0b patch 3072, Rip problem

I have a problem with my checkpoint firewall-1 Ver 3.0b patch 3072 running
on solaris 2.5.1
I have RIP in passive mode running on the firewall to learn routes, all of 
a sudden the firewall started dropping the rip and I can see it being
dropped
in the firewall log.

I checked the following.

No rules to drop the incoming rip packet.
Firewall properties have Accept Rip set to First in Security Policies
Firewall properties have Accept Rip set to First in Access Lists

Firewall rule with source routers Destination local-net-broadcast and
service Any
allows the firewall to learn the routes

Firewall rule with source routers Destination local-net-broadcast and
service rip, rip-response
does not allow the firewall to learn the routes.

Any help on this is deeply appreciated.
