RE: [FW1] CCSE asks: How do I put one potential employer on hold?

You missed on thing. Company D has already recorded all this and is taking
action as we speak :->

OK everyone else... I won't comment again and waste bandwidth

Attack company A's firewall as if it was coming from company B.
Tell company A that you could be starting a new Job with company B and
that if they want you sooner that you will start with them but they have to
meet the pay that you want or you are going to company B. Tell company B
that A is going to retaliate and that they (B) need you to protect their
network when they do- then tell A that you will work for them and that you
will go to work for B undercover to make the problems stop - then tell A
that they must hire you if you are successful. Company C reads this news
list and hires me to protect them from you. Wow what a plan.

Easy, be honest with both Company A and Company B. If Company A won't wait
or
if Company B won't push the date closer to maybe get you then you have an
insight into each company. Now, if Company A doesn't want to wait and needs
an
answer then you have the option of saying no and taking your chances with
Company B. What it really comes down to is how do you feel about your
presend
company. If all you do it hate it so much you want to get out then go with
A as
this is a sure thing. If however, you are just trolling the waters and
Company
A won't wait then say no and take your chances.

NOTE: in case anyone at Company A is monitoring this list and has had to
interview Alan; need any more candidates :->

How do I put one potential employer on hold? This may be slightly
off-topic, but as a CCSE I will take that liberty :)

I have a dilemma, I received a full-time job offer from Company A today,
which is a decent company. But the truth is that I would really prefer to
work for Company B. They are a much more focused & smaller security company
than Company A.

The problem is that my third and final interview for Company B is not
scheduled for another 10 days.

So how do I put Company A on hold until I find out if Company B Will make me
an offer?

Thanks,

Allan
