Yes, I have seen the same running the exact same products/platform!  I
kept thinking there must be something I am missing....  
It is not a good situation because I wanted to just turn on full logging
a few hours a day to review the details but as you said - who can
momentarily stop all traffic from flowing through the firewall during
normal business hours!?!?!

I've got a strange problem with logging on a firewall. The VPN-1 4.0 SP4
is
running on NT 4.0 SP4. The rules are set up to do full logging on all
but a
select few rules which are set up for no logging. Whenever you install
the
policy, the logging switches from full logging to short logging on all
but
ISAKMP events which show up as full logging. The only way to fix the
problem is to unload and then reload the policy on the firewall. This is
a
real nuisance as it causes you to have to momentarily stop all traffic
from
flowing through the firewall which means you can't load policy during
business hours. I suspect this is a bug in the logging software. Has
anyone
else seen anything like this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
