[ The following text is in the "iso-8859-1" character set. ]
[ Your display is set for the "US-ASCII" character set. Some ]
[ characters may be displayed incorrectly. ]

you can get some really good tips on how to use
tcpdump from:

http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=tcpdump&apropos=0&sektion=0&manpath
=FreeBSD+3.2-RELEASE&format=html

(This may be easier...)
The FreeBSD Man pages are at:
http://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi
