We do user authentication.  Our rules are as follows&#8230.

usergroup@internal_segment      destination server           telnet
User_Auth

In the User Auth settings we set the connect to predefined servers.

In the User Settings we add the Unix hosts(same as the destination
servers in the rule) in the destinations section of the location tab.

Hope this helps

Subject: [FW1] How to control telnet access

Hi,

Would appreciate if anyone could help me with this scenario:

User need to access Unix server via FW-1 using telnet.

How do I set up this rule in Checkpoint?

How do I control his access: by user-id and/or his machine's ip address?

Do I use User or Client authentication?

Thanks for the help.

Regards

Chris
