No, i didnt test nmap with "-sS" ... but ConSeal can detect any IP that try to connect do the box. 
Some time ago i stop to make tests do the firewall (and nmap got new version lately by Vaccum from R9/Technotronic, for example, and i never test it), and now i got more stuff, like NukeNabber and AtGuard, to monitor NetXray and other apps.
If we meet some day in irc we can try to test that, but i have to disable some stuff before that.
